"Accela"

As we watched Lain layer 02: Girls. I've realize there was a drug that the guy had taken and it looked like a little piece of mechanical chip I figured it was similar to an ecstasy pill since he took in the club but it's not. It's called Accela. What is Accela? It's best described as a designer drug 'machine'. When someone takes this drug a nano mechanism moves at a certain frequency that separates a specific hormone in the human body to mess with your sense of time and speeds up everything. As it mention in the episode the drug not only enhance the consciousness of the body but also accelerates the brain by multiplying the brain's operational capacity from 2 to 12 times. The nano mechanism will be destroy within a day by the digestive juice inside the body. On Accela, you can move closer to the speed of the Wired, so Real World seems slower. and therefore they can get closer to the Wired even without using the NAVI. Ecstasy enhanced sense of self-confidence and energy. Also include feelings of peacefulness, acceptance and empathy. After researching about Accela I've come to conclusion that it is nothing like ecstasy and it's not anywhere near. But they do have some similar Side Effects listed below.

"Real World"

The "real world" that Lain has been living in her entire life has seemed to become not so real as she is cast down the rabbit hole into something much less sturdy than the concept she once had of her physical universe. As time progresses, Lain comes to the understanding that reality in the "real world" is based upon the perception of all of its inhabitants. Therefore since the wired is the collaborative database that can connect with all humans on earth, and since Lain has complete control over the wired, she can control reality on earth. Upon this realization of the powers she has to manipulate the "real world", she now has the key to successfully fix the problems of mankind by simply erasing the memory and subsequently the event itself from happening at all.

Psyche & the Knights

Psyche is a chip that you add on to your NAVI or computer to enhance to its power. The newer models are made to make them even faster. Unfortunately the chip isn't available to just anyone. Using the chip you can connect and interface without the use of devices. It allows access to the Wired completely. It may have originated from the Knights. The knights are a powerful secret society on the Wired, aka Knights of Eastern Calculus. This society consists of mostly computer otaku and other people who like being in secret organizations. The Knights possibly originated from the Knights Templar who were hermeticists or alchemists. They bring to mind the image of the Pythagorean mystics or mathematicians. Their goal may possibly be to unite human consciousness with the "divine" or "true" consciousness.

The Wired

In the Serial Experiments Lain, the "Wired" can be described as an alternate consciousness analogous with reality; all forms of networking: internet, telecommunications, but mostly through the use of computers. The theme of the series is the thought that the "Wired" can be entered without to use of physical interface using Protocol 7. The theory was to create a new level of consciousness, not bound to genetic make-up or species; to become a global living brain. In the beginning episodes, the series alludes to all of humanity being connected. Then the true themes begin to surface. Jung's theory of the collective unconscious, the Neurogenetic Circuit of Timothy Leary and the Phylogenetic Unconscious of Grof and Ring. They all are striving for one thing, immortality through advanced understanding and uniting our realities as one.

Devices

In Lain I always thought devices mint the things that was connected to lain's computer to cast her into the wire. But i was wrong devices in lain was the different episode they had like devices 1 eye. There defentation for device was segment in lain is to play around with the idea that the line between humanity and technology is blurry and that where the human body begins and the ends is unclear our various organs. so i think what they were trying to do in lain was instead of using computer names they use body parts as there names like devices. The body was like the computer and the heart was like the pc of the computer.
